Greg Fisher
Development Director

Greg is a long term Coachella Valley resident who recently joined the CVRM team. He has two daughters, Megan and Courtney and has been married to Francene for 24 years. He is responsible for the planning, organization, and coordination of the Mission’s efforts that are necessary to raise gift income for operating, capital and endowment purposes.
Greg states: “I consider it a privilege to use my gifts and expertise for the Mission. This is a great opportunity to serve and follow God’s Will.”

Sue Meyers
Director of Operations

Sue began in October 2005 as an Executive Assistant. In September 2006, she became the Director of Operations. Sue is responsible for the Mission operations, financials and personnel. She has over 20+ years of operational management experience.

Randy Burke
Food Service & Facility Manager

Randy started in June 2007 as part time kitchen help and was promoted to Kitchen Supervisor and finally Food and Facility Manager in November 2007. Randy is the Mission purchasing agent within budgetary constraints and supervises the kitchen, maintenance and drivers for the Mission.

Angie Warren

Angie has been working in the mission office since July of 2001. She is a strong help in the administrative office and keeps the donor input and responses accurate and timely. She states, “If it wasn’t for the Mission giving me a chance, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank God for the Mission and the great job that it’s doing to help change people’s lives – especially mine.”

I was rescued by God and placed in the Mission six years ago. I graduated the New Life Program and have been faithfully serving Him at the New Life Thrift Store in Coachella as store manager. Serving God at CVRM has given me joy I have never known before.

Matt Gawn

Matthew Gawn joined the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission staff March 2006. He is the Men’s Program Manager. He is a versatile, results-oriented manager with significant, progressive and multi-facet experience in public relations, coordinated and assisted in facilitating program participants transition from a highly structured Bible-based twelve step program to a successful interaction into a sober, God-centered, self-sufficient and productive Lifestyle. God has given me a golden opportunity to serve Him, and share the gifts He has given me with others.

Olga S. Betancourt

Olga joined Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in April 2011 as the Program Director. She has had a remarkable 30 year career in the business field and has received recognition from Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack, Assemblyman Manuel Perez, and from the Palm Desert Chapter of Soroptimists International. Since 2006, Ms. Betancourt has been the Director of the Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center in Palm Desert, CA. She led the Center in the assistance of entrepreneurs or business women at every stage of development from launching a business venture to diversifying or expanding their business.

Sandy Carroll

Sandy graduated from Southern California School of Ministry, received master level training in counseling from Trinity College of Graduate Studies. She has served as Administrative Assistant to several area pastors and provided Strengthening Families Classes on several occasions for the Desert Sands School District.
Sandy joined CV Rescue Mission in July 2008, as Development Coordinator and has been engaged in fund raising for the new facility for three years.

Linda Garland

Linda is a California native and grew up in Palm Springs. She attended the Southern California Christian College where she received her bachelor of Biblical Studies. Linda worked for the only “Black Record Label” located in Palm Springs for 5 years as the CEO’s Assistant. Linda has worked in churches in Rancho Mirage for over ten years and joined the CVRM’s team in 2008.

Heather Frizzell
Women & Family Shelter Manager

Heather has been with CVRM since July 2010 and serves as the Women & Family Shelter Manager. Heather is pursuing a degree in Human Services at the University of Phoenix and has a growing compassion for serving the homeless population. Heather is married to her childhood friend David, who is a former graduate of the New Life Program; she and David are expecting their first child July 25, 2011. Heather’s desire is to serve people through the love of Jesus Christ. “For you have been called to live in freedom, not freedom to satisfy the sinful nature but freedom to serve one another in love.” Gal. 5:13
