Indio, CA – The plain white walls of the kitchen at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission now pop with joyful, cheerful colors thanks to the staff and teachers at Christian School of the Desert. Not only the kitchen, but the staff repainted the living quarters of the Women and Family Shelter, chapel wall and outside walls that badly needed a fresh look. Another CSOD crew of staff members prepared lunch for everyone spending the day at the Mission. Pastor Kirk Scott arranged the painting project for Tuesday, August 28th as a bonding portion of their yearly staff retreat, allowing new teachers and staff to get to know one another while serving the community.

“We serve over 420 meals a day and it was very encouraging to our staff, clients and residents to see the CSOD staff spend their day making the kitchen a pleasing place to eat, and a fresh coat of paint in the other areas,” stated Sue Meyers, Director of Operations.
