(Winchester, VA) – ECFA announced today the accreditation for Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) of Indio, California. Accreditation is based on seven standards of responsible stewardship which include but are not limited to financial accountability, transparency, and ethical fund-raising.
With accreditation, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission joins over 2,000 Churches and Evangelical organizations that have earned the privilege of displaying the ECFA seal. When an organization is accredited by ECFA, they demonstrate the willingness to follow this collective model of biblical accountability.
In a letter to CVRM Executive Director, Ms. Darla Burkett, ECFA President, Ken Behr remarked, “We are pleased to include in our membership a growing ministry where daily physical and spiritual needs may be met for men, women and children.”
Coachella Valley Rescue Mission has facilities to house 80 men, women and children in a variety of needs including emergency shelter, short term case management and a one year New Life Program. CVRM’s ministry includes over 400 meals daily and 30 food boxes weekly to the needy families in the Coachella Valley. The Mission also offers or directs individuals to an array of local programs including job training and counseling services.
ECFA, founded in 1979, provides accreditation to evangelical Christian nonprofit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with established standards for financial accountability, fund-raising and board governance.
